Canadian hockey skates
|
In Anglo-Saxon countries ice hockey was already played in the second half of the 19th century. Then it was a much calmer game than it is nowadays. It started as a copy of field hockey. The skates used had quite wide runners that were not suited for brisk braking and accelerating. But from the beginning fastening boots to ice skates in a sturdy way and without using special tools was given much attention. Thus full metal ice skates were designed with all kind of smart fixing systems. |
